Hi Jhonnie,
Did you tried in Safe Mode?, Do you have Spybot runing in Tea timer mode,
Spysweeper, spyblaster, ad-aware runing in ad-watch mode, zone alarm...etc.
All these application have Option Settings to lock the Home page so see what
youy have and configure it to loose it's grip>
