a site called mypoisk has taken over as my home page.
I've changed it in Tools, internet options, but everytime
i open internet explorer, it's there again.
I've "searched" and deleted everything I can find with
that name but can't get rid of it.

Go to www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
and get the linked CWShredder and run it. It has not recently been
updated, but there is a good chance it will cure the infection
