Home page loading very slowly

All,

My home page (MSN.COM) suddenly is loading very slowly. It seems to
take "forever" to get through all the "opening item" entries you see at the
bottom of the page. Everything else seems fine, and I can load any of my
favorites pages quickly. Any suggestions as to what is going on? Thanks in
advance for any suggestions.

Bruce,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).

You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK

.
I am having the same problem as Bruce is. I came back
from a day-long trip and it took a long time for me to
complete any tasks using IE. I restarted my computer 3
times yesterday, cleared the history, deleted files and
cookies, ran virus scan, deleted all my spywareand left
it off all last night and this morning it is still very
lethargic. My IE worked fine before I left Friday
afternoon so I am clueless as to what the problem may be.
Is there a virus or something we should know about that
could be causing this problem?

Thanks,

Scott

Go to: http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
