I am hyaving the same problem almost. Everytime I restart
or power up my computer my home page changes to
hppt://www.searchby.net. I reset my home page thru tools,
option or thru control panel and my home page will stay
until I shut down or have to do a restart. Searchby also
leaves a "data miner" on my system which either Spybot or
Ad-aware have found. So now on restart I have to change
the home page to where I want it and run Spybot to get rid
of the spyware that searchby leaves behind (if I have gone
on line before resetting). I use Zone Alarm Pro as a fire
wall and it appears that the firewall is of no value in
this particular case. This has been going for over 2
months now and I just can't find a fix for the problem.
Anyone got any good ideas or patchs to fix this GD
problem.????

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
