Unchangable home page

R

rrittgers

I've got the GD web site that somehow infiltrated my
system and set itself up as my home page. I've tried
changing it through Tools-Internet Options-Home Page and
while it'll change, every time I boot up the computer it
resets it to that GD web page.

I've also tried going through my Windows XP Home Settings-
Control Panel-Internet Options-Home Page and the same
thing happens.

Any ideas on how to fix this. Microsoft refuses to help
because the XP PID says it's got OEM in the number and
says that I have to go back to the manufacturer which is
no-name that put the system together.

Thanks in advance.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
