Home Page in IE grayed out, cannot change

I cannot change the homepage in IE using the internet options, general tab.
It is grayed out, and has "/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome", in
faint gray print in the address box.. Anyone know what the problem is and
how to fix it? TIA
