I am having difficulty setup a home networking with my desktop (XP Pro) and my laptop (XP Home). When I run the Network Setup Wizard and get to the final step where the network is created, a dialog box pops up that says "Cannot complete Windows Network Setup Wizard - An error occured in the configuration..." Regardless of which configuration I choose to setup I still get the same message. I am working off a Linksys cable modem/router which I connect wired with my desktop and wireless with my laptop. I can access the internet on both fine, I just can't establish a network between the two. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Does your desktop have a network adapter pre-installed
that you are not using? If so disable it in device
manager. later on you will be asked for the network
adapter you wish to use to access your network - there
are two options one to let windows select it or the other
for you to choose - choose the option that lets you
choose.

good luck
