Home Networking Problems

I've searched other threads and could not find an answer to my exact
problem so I apologize if this has already been answered. I'm trying
to set up a home network. I have dial up internet and I connected the
two computers together with a crossover cable using their Ethernet
port. My primary computer is using Windows XP Home, my secondary
computer is using Windows ME. I ran the Home Networking Wizard on my
XP, gave it a computer name, and workgroup name. I then created a disk
from that wizard like it told me to do and installed the disk on the ME
computer and it set up the home network for me after I gave the
secondary computer a different computer name and the same workgroup
name (MShome). I set up a folder on each computer that can be shared.
On my secondary computer(ME) the internet connection is being shared by
my primary computer (XP). Also the folders that I chose to share on
the ME system show up in My Network Places only on the ME system, they
do not show up on the XP system. Back at the XP system nothing shows
up in My Network Places. I have disabled the XP firewall and the
Norton firewall. I still have the same problem. Any ideas on what
might be the problem?

Yep. It may be that you are using Netbeui on the ME machine. Either install
same on XP machine or remove it from ME machine and all should be fine.

i'm faced the same problems sir
even with installing the same protocols on each machine
from XP i see Win98se shares but from 98 i don't see XP shares
although i ran the command PING from Win98se command pinging the XP ip
answred with OK
I'm waiting for the same answer !!
