I have two computers: A (running w2k pro) and B (WinXP pro) connected
through DLink wired router. Both A and B are set to share files and
periferals. Everything was working just nice until a week or so ago, can't
say exactly. There were some Windows updates on both in the meantime. At the
moment I can access anything on B from A, no problem. However, if I want to
see a file on A from B, The only thing I see are drives. When clicking on a
drive, a dialog box pops asking for an ID and a password. I have never set
it like that and have no idea how to deal with it. Have tried various things
to no avail.

Any suggestions? Pinging works both ways.

I have posted this question on MS communities news group on Friday morning
but cannot connect to it since (does anybody knows why?). Sorry for double
posting.

Create identical accounts (username and password) on both computers. Log
into the XP with this account then you will be able to share files on the
Win2k.
