Hello all,
I have Home Networking set up through EarthLink (ADSL). My desktop pc
is brand new, running Win XP Pro; wireless notebook computer running
the same. DSL modem is by Zyxel, wireless router is a Linksys WRT54G.
The problem is, for about the past 2 weeks I usually cannot connect to
the Internet using the desktop pc; however I can always connect via the
wireless laptop. It's very puzzling because I have not changed any
settings on the pc. I've double-and-triple checked all the physical
connections from phone jack to pc to router & modem, etc. My network
card is supposedly fine. We did have a power outage a few weeks ago but
I have gotten the pc to connect a few times since power was restored.
It's just not consistent at all. Anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks in advance!

Personally I'd re-check the network card. Do you have an alternative nic to
try?

According to Device Manager, my network card is (supposedly) working
properly. Is there another way of checking it without having to open
up my pc? Thanks...
