Can anyone tell me how or if it's possible to share my IC with a one way
cable modem. If so can anyone tell me how? I've tried all the things I can
think of and nothing works. I can't even share my printer!

Cable from wall into cable modem...
Ethernet cable from modem to WAN router port...
PC Ethernet port from router to 1st PC network card....
PC Ethernet port from router to 2nd PC network card...
etc.

Depending on your OS, you can use this configuration to set up a
Peer-To-Peer (PPP) network where each PC can see the others. You will need
to enable File and Printer Sharing on each computer that you wish to share
files and printers though.

If you have a server, you can also use this configuration to set up a domain
and have other PCs be clients.

The simplest way to create network that includes your cable modem is using a
cable/dsl router. Most of these include a 4 port switch to plug your
computers into and a WAN port for your cable/dsl modem. I have bought these
for as low as $40. Another thing you can do is put second NIC card in the
machine that is connected to the cable/dsl modem. You could come out of the
NIC card into your other computer with a crossover cable and then turn on
Internet Connection sharing.

We have been using Windows98SE as root entry server for our home network and
Win XP Pro for rest of the four home PCs. In fact we have both XP Pro and
Win98SE
on all of our PCs. Network works fine for file transfer and common printer
use, and
TCP/IP sharing for all of our PCs.

As an experiment, when we loaded the Windows XP Pro on our entry server,
we are able to get the file sharing & common printer working, but the TCP/IP
sharing
does not work.

Only the root entry PC gets the TCP/IP. (We are using DSL modem with 10 Mega
Bit Phoneline Network at our home. The entry server has an Ethernet Card for
the
DSL modem and a 3Com phoneline card for the home network, the rest of the
PCs
each have a 3Com phoneline card. Under Win98SE, the internal IP addresses
are
loaded automatically. The default gateway is 198.168.0.1 and the other PCs
are
192.168.0.2....5 etc).

Is there any easy way to 'Share' Internet for our rest of the home PCs with
XP Pro
running on the entry server?
