Linksys WRT54GS router (supports wired and wireless) to:
HP Pavilion 780n desktop, XP Home SP2, uses wired ethernet
HP Photosmart 2710 AIO printer (wired/wireless/BT) uses wired
new Dell Inspiron 6000, XP Pro SP2 (wired/wireless/BT) uses wireless
I want to share files between the two computers and print from
the Dell.
The HP PC can access the internet, print to the printer, etc.,
no problems.
The Dell can access the internet, so it sees the router OK,
but it can't see the printer or the HP PC.
On the Dell, when I run the "Network Setup Wizard" it says that
the cable is not connected, of course, as it should.
When I run the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard" it can't see
the other devices. Why is that? The router understands
who everyone is. Is XP smart enough to "look through the router"
and see who is really on the network without each device insisting
"you have to be like me"?
