Home network trouble

Confused User

I have two computers on a home network running through a router. Both
computers are running xp home sp1. Both computers can connect to the
internet just fine but one of the computers is having trouble accessing the
network. On one, I can open explorer and go to "My network places" and I can
see that computer and the other computer listed, but I cannot access the
other computer.

On the other computer, when I try the same thing, it gets to "My Network
Places\Entire Network\Microsoft Windows Network" I click on that, to bring
up MSHOME and it runs for a while before it finally shows up, then when I
click on that, it says that mshome is not accessible and that I should talk
to the admin.

I have run the network setup wizard on both computers and added both IP
addresses to the firewalls running on both computers. I have also turned off
the firewall that comes with windows. I would sure appreciate a solution to
this problem.

I guess that if you had actually read my post, you would know that I have already done that.

Each PC needs a "Common" account w/ a Password. This
establishes Rights that allow access. Accounts that do not
have a Password are seen by XP as a Security risk.

I appreciate that info, but I have had it working before, without any
passwords. I had to nuke one of the drives and now, I cannot remember how to
get it working again. Besides, the problem computer cannot even see itself.
That was the problem I had before and I just cannot remember how I solved it
but I know it was not with a password since I have never used one.
