home dvd to computer?

I have tons of home dvds that I made from my vhs tapes and would like
to know if I can put these on my comp. I have emachines t6212 model
3200-160 gb,dvd+/-rw double layer drive, and am using real player and
nero 7 ultra edition for my music and videos that I make. I am
relatively new to this, and have not yet been able to figure out if I
can put these other videos in. Do I need to buy anything or can
somebody tell me if this is possible. I have one special one of my dad
who just died, so you can see why this might be important for me.

Does Your computer have Audio Video inputs?
If it does You can Hook your VCR to these, and use Movie Maker Capture Video.

My computer has a TV Tuner and I hook the VCR to the Computer with TV Coax
Cable.
