hold key down long time

What are you talking about? Why do you have to hold down keys for 2
seconds? What is "normal"? HTH Otto

It could be you have 'sticky keys' on. Hit the shift key five times, hit
settings and turn everything off. Or go to accessibility under
start>programs>accessories>accessibility
