Hello,

What's with me and problems with my hit counter?? :>)

I've gotten myself a domain. My domain is a subdomain of another site,
although I have my own domain name. After uploading my website to my
new host, my hit counter wouldn't show up. I had been using a custom
image, so after a couple of attempts, I decided to use a default image.
So I used one of the 5 default images that MS provides and uploaded it.
Now, the image shows, but the counter does not increment. It is always
stuck at "1". Here are the troubleshooting steps I've taken:

- Updated the webpage on the LIVE website to reset the counter to a
specific number.
- Removed the hit counter for several hours then re-installed it.
- Re-installed all the FrontPage extensions through the host's Control
Panel.

What could be going on? The only thing I can think of is that my domain
is a sub-domain ("Add-On domain") of another site. BOTH sites have the
MS hit counter and BOTH sites have the extensions installed. Could
there be a conflict there? The Webhost and Control Panel treat the main
domain and sub-domain separately and I can choose FrontPage extensions
independently.

See for yourself: www.vikenk.com

Thanks.

You refer to "upload." Did you Publish via http? If you have used FTP you
have again corrupted the FrontPage Server Extensions.
Re-install the server extensions. Publish your web site. The page counter
should then work as intended. If it doesn't seem to be working, refresh (IE)
or reload the current page in your browser.

Sheesh! It just won't work! I've been reinstalling Front Page Extensions and
publishing all night. This should be working, but isn't. It's maddening...
