I've got a real nice one. An email was received in outlook 2003 with a jpg
attachment. that attachment was viewed and deleted with email. but now
when new mail shows up with a jpg attachment, windows picture and fax viewer
opens the picture, click the arrow to look at the next picture and the
deleted one shows up. of course the deleted one isn't a nice picture of
someone's dog either. searched the hard drive for all jpg's and can't find
it to delete it. where is this file cached????

Deleting your Temporary Internet Files should do the trick.

Otherwise open a command prompt and go to;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Then delete the OLK** folder

Is it in your My Pictures folder? (It should be in the OLK*.. unless you
moved the securetemp)

my apologies, you were right. it was in the olk** folder, thought deleting
temporary internet files did not get it. I didn't realize that clicking the
settings to show all hidden files and the one about system files... still
doesn't show all the files.

thanks for the fix

Technically it's not a bug, as it's how outlook and the secure temp folder
has worked since they began using it.

You need to close the attachment before closing an open email or changing
the message displayed in the preview pane.

If you want to save changes back to the attachment on the message, see
