Why is my history recording my non browser usage, other
software? And it won't clear it out on a "clear history"
command? help!

IE does that now. It's just the way things work. It's probably related to
the integration of IE and Windows Explorer.

You can use Windows Explorer to go to the History folder and delete those
entries from there.
