History will not clear or delete

I have run the standard process for deleting IE History
(Internet Options > General > Clear History), but this is
not clearing History from the Address drop-down as it
should. This occurs whether AutoComplete is on or off.

Please advise if there is an alternate fix to this.

Mike,
Possibly your History folder is corrupt:
[XP\2K]
Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username> folder(s).
[example]
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\HISTORY"
