I am having a hard time figuring out why on the history
view, it will only retain the websites that I have been on
while the browser is open. In other words, if you go to
View/Explorer Bar/History...normally, it holds 7 days of
the websites visited. Now...every time I close the
browser, go back to History, everything is deleted. I
have uninstalled XP, but it didn't work...any
suggestions??? Just wanted to point out too that under
Internet Options/Advanced there is an option to empty
temporary internet files when browser is closed...that is
NOT checked.
4 phone calls to Dell and they can't
figure it out either! Thanks so much!

Are you running a cleaner that purges the history files. Some may have that
option. You must turn it off prior to using it.

Do you have TweakUI installed?

If so click on "Explorer" and uncheck "clear document history on exit".
