History Folder Win XP

Barb

I've set up 2 user accounts for our children and would like
to view their internet activity via the History folder and
Temp. Internet Files but am unable to locate either on WIN
XP. Also am unable to determine if setting them up as
separate users will show separate internet activity.

Help!! & Thank You!!

If you have children, you should strongly consider purchasing
a good internet security program and enable "Parental Controls".

Also, to directly address your question, the history and temp
files are stored on a per account basis, within the profiles of
the accounts.
You will find these within Documents and Settings as special
folders within the Local Settings and for the IE temp within
the Local Settings\temp folders. However, you cannot read
what is there by use of Explorer (they are special folders,
and also are not even visible unless hidden, and special
system hidden files and folders are enabled for viewing in
Explorer options).

Since you need a special reader to examine these, you may
as well consider a full-feature child guardian software, as
was already recommended.
