hijacked IE

For weeks IE 6 has been almost unusable because of an
inundation of popups the moment the program is launched. In
particular, an obnoxious page with the url snorb.dll usurps
the selected home page every time.

It is not easy to do without IE these days, but I'm trying
to avoid it and select netscape. Please advise how to clean
up IE of this plague.

Thanks, I tried it but this snorb.dll garbage must be
using some other method because it's still there.
