Highlighting

I'm using a spreadsheet with windows XP and I have about 2000 rows to highlight. If I click and hold the mouse on the first cell and drag down 2000 rows it takes about five minutes and my finger gets tired. Is there an easier way? (Maybe select the first and last cells and somehow highlight everything between them?) And how do I do it?

You don't say what type of spreadsheet. For Word - as below, for Excel, use
a similar idea but click the whole horizontal row.

I assume you mean highlighting with a colour, rather than just highlighting
a line by left-clicking and running across the line.

Place the cursor at the beginning of the first line.
Scroll down to the last line, hold down Shift & click at the end of the last
line - the lot should now be highlighted in black.

While it's still all highlighted, click the highlight button up the top.

try clicking on the first one, then holding shift when
you click on the last one.

That worked great John and Adam. Holding down the left mouse button and draging down 2000 rows was a tough job and my finger and I thank you.
