Highlighting Text & Dragging Down Cursor Problem

When I Highlight text to say, reformat, on a multipage
document and only want to select the first 2 pages. I
find that the speed of the cursor when dragging it down
to highlight the text, instantly goes to the end of the
document be it 2 pages or 40 pages.

This happens only when I drag the cursor past the end of
the visible portion of the page on view on the screen (25
lines).

Obviously this is a nightmare because I can only reformat
the text that is visible on the screen.

Can somebody help me with this as I cannot find a way to
slow the cursor down, so that I can leisurely drag the
cursor down to the point where I want it?

Hi Gerry,

Left click with the mouse at the beginning of the range that you want to
select and then using the scroll bar scroll down until the end of the range
comes into view and then left click with the mouse while holding down the
Shift key.
