How can i highlight cells/rows being used in the sum formula above with
individually selecting them???

If you doulbe-click on the formula cell, it's references will highlight.

After double-clicking to select the cells, if you want, you can then hit the
'Fill Color' button on the 'Formating' toolbar to change the color of those
selected cells.
