Highlight/select found text on search

It seems that the text search function sometimes fails to select/highlight
the found text. I can't put my finger on the exact circumstances. (PPT 2009)

Have others seen this? Identified the cause/circumstances?

Using a version of PowerPoint that has not been released can cause odd
side
effects. There's no PPT 2009 ... 2007 maybe? ;-)

Yeah sorry brainfart - 2007.
So you can see the text in the presentation but search isn't finding it?

Is the text in a graphic, chart or other pasted-in content? That might
account for it.

The word is in the notes -- it doesn't seem to find it in the sense that it
highlights or selects it (which is what normally happens) but it does
show/move to the slide that has the word in notes. I am in normal view mode
with both the slide and the notes visible.

Dang. Now, do you want to see something genuinely bizarre?

Put the presentation in Notes view, then do the search.
I tried this thinking it might need to be in notes view to find/highlight
the
text.

Sorta yes, sorta no.

Now it finds the text, puts the presentation in normal view on the
appropriate
slide and then highlights the text in the notes.

Do we win some kind of prize for this one? I've reported it. I'll split
the
proceeds with ya. ;-)

There are prizes?
