Trying to install a Bafo hard drive enclosure with a
Maxtor 60 gig hard drive in it. Runs off a USB adaptor.
Win XP says I'm trying to use a Highspeed USB device
plugged into a non highspeed USB hub. Where can I get the
highspeed driver for this thing?
Thanks,
Tom

FullSpeed = Original USB 1.0 Spec @11 Meg
HighSpeed = New USB 2.0 Spec @480 Meg
You will need a USB 2.0 add-in peripheral card, unless
your motherboard has USB 2 channels on board.

Sounds like your computer does not have a USB 2.0 port
that it needs to run this. No driver will correct this.
You'll have to add a USB 2.0 card if your bios can handle
it.

I have this issue also but it isn't a problem. It just
happens because I am using a USB 2.0 device with USB 1.0 port.
It only gives me the message when I plug the drive in and
then the message goes away and everything works fine.

This is a USB 2.0 device, requiring a high speed USB 2.0 controller to
work at the speed it needs. You can't do that with just a software
driver. If your machine only has USB 1.1 hardware (which would appear
to be the case) you need to get a USB 2.0 card to fit, which will come
with drivers. They are not expensive - look around and you can find a 2
port PCI USB2.0 card for under $15

It may work OK but it is running about 40X slower than it would if you
bought a USB 2.0 card and installed it. (assuming your mother board can
handle it).
