| Noone else does either apparently.

I do and I think I understand the context.

Ed H. has reached a point of where he shouldn't be scanning his PC but should be seeking
expert, guided, assistance in a forum.

Malewarebytes was not removing this registry key even though it said it had.
That's why it kept "re-appearing." No other scan said it was a problem, e.g.
Spybot Windows Defender and Avast AV. So I deleted it by hand and MBAM now
comes up clean even after several reboots.

| So... the conclusion is that he's lying. Right?

No he's not lying. He's mistaken.

I'm confused by your following statement:

"the authors of MBAM did not intend users to keep the free version
installed"

PA Bear:
"That's what the authors have told us privately."

I wonder who the author might be?

"This is completely false. We offer the free version everywhere and on
purpose."

Dustin Cook

"...Rumours aside. No truth to it. Keep the free version installed and
updated! We would prefer you surf safely!"

In reference to SuperAntiSpyware, PA Bear stated:
It (SAS) "...be worthwhile if you purchase it but it author has a very
shady multi-level online marketing history: Tigers don't change their
stripes nor leopards their spots."

I wonder if Nick would comment on this?

If you visit the MBAM forums, the MBAM owners/developers dispute PA Bear by
name and have expressed their displeasure with his comments...they encourage
people to keep the free program installed.

Looks pretty clear cut to me (I even looked the posts up at Google
Groups just to be sure).
