hiding files possible?

I have a Toshiba laptop, Satellite A205-S4629, Vista Ultimate 32, Intel
Centrino Duo, 2G DDR2 RAM. I have 2 users set up, one for personal use and
one for a business I run. I have admin privileges on the business identity.
I need to be able to keep my business email and files separate and not
available except while in that identity. Both are set with passwords.
However, if I go through Windows Explorer and look, I can see all the files,
documents, and even email files from each user, even if I am looking from
the personal account. Not very secure. Is there a way to secure this so
nobody can see those business files from the personal account?

Right click on the business identity and select
properties. Go to the security tab, and
edit the perms so that the users don't
have perms on the directory.

Yes, you can set permissions on them. When you ask for hiding it is easy to
think of the hidden file system attribute, which makes the files not show up.
However, that means they do not show up for anyone, and is not a security
feature.

The simplest thing you can do is to make sure that you store all documents
relating to each job function in the Documents folder for that job function.
That folder should already be secured so that only that user, or an
adminstrator, can access them, unless you chose to make them public. It
sounds to me like you are not storing your data there because it would
already be secure.

It is important to understand that this only works if your user accounts are
NOT administrative accounts. You can only keep a standard user from getting
access to documents. In other words, it is likely that all you need to do is
to make sure both of your accounts are only standard users. Create a third
account that is an administrator which you can use to administer the
computer.

Thanks guys. I didn't know that trick in Vista. Still learning my way around
it! All fixed now, can't see the business files in Windows explorer without
a passworded permission box popping up. That is what I wanted.
