Hiding Cell Formulas that are linked to Userforms

I have a chunk of cells whose formulas I want to hide. I’ve hidden them through the protection tab on the format cells window but for that to work you have to protect the worksheet. The problem is that the calculations of these protected cell values depends on a cell value that is linked to a userform (pull-down menu). When you protect the worksheet and try and chance the userform, excel views that as trying to change the protected cells. Is there a way to allow the values in the cells to change (with changes to the userform) without the viewer being able to see the formulas in the cells?

Maybe you could unlock the linkedcell and just hide the row or column that that
cell is in. Most people wouldn't notice.

Or put the linkedcell on a different worksheet and hide that worksheet.

or maybe if you show the userform modally (so the user can't do anything but use
the userform), maybe unprotect the worksheet, show the form, do your stuff and
then right before you unload the userform, protect the sheet.
