Hide System Tray icon / Lock settings

Hi,

I have been asked to evaluate whether we can use Antispyware in some of our
training rooms.

Two issues which have arisen during the course of my evaluation is that user
who log on to Windows 2000, the operating system on the PCs, can alter the
settings by accessing the icon on the toolbar.

Is there anyway that I can hide the system tray icon to prevent users
accessing it, and also locking the system settings to prevent any
manipulation ?

I was thinking of a registry hack, but despite searching the Internet, I
could not find out - can anyone help ?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Umm - hiding the system tray icon is an option offered in the program.
However, the option isn't totally effective. It works until a scheduled
scan completes, at which point the icon appears until a reboot.

This product isn't designed for use in this way. Stay tuned, though--the
corporate client, which will cost money, is very likely to be useful in this
way.
