Hide animation numbers on slide being created

The little animation number boxes are getting in my way and not allowing me
to see what I am working on as I build my slides. Is there a way to hide
them?
 
You can either close Custom Animation panel so that the boxes disappear, or
zoom in to have a better view. Hope it helps.

Just change the action pane to SLIDE TRANSITION, LAYOUT or any other view.
The animation numbering only shows up when the animation pane is active.
