Hidden folders

When I open Windows Mail, my Folder List displays Local Folders, Inbox (inc.
subfolders) and MS Communities, but doesn't display any others (e.g. Sent
Items, Deleted Items, etc).

The only way I can view these is to click on Local Folders, which displays
all my folders in the window to the right. I then have to right-click the
individual folders I wish to see and select Open, which displays the folder
in the Folder List. I'm having to do this every time I open WM, which can't
be right.

I've trawled through the options and can't see anything that would hide
certain folders, so can someone please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Try clicking on the triangle to the left of Local Folders instead of on
Local Folders itself.

Then you're having a problem I'm not familiar with. Some problems
in Windows Mail are caused by antivirus programs, so what if any
such programs do you have?

I've already had to uninstall McAffee because it was interfering with WM.
I'm now using Avast, which was recommended in a post regarding problems with
WM.

As far as I can see, there aren't any settings regarding email scanning
within Avast.

You can uninstall it and then do a custom install that tells it to leave out
the part that scans email.

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

The part that turns email scanning on or off may appear only in the
paid versions.

I have the identical problem... it apparently started this morning.
Up until today, my complete Folder list (Inbox, Outbox, Sent, Deleted,
etc.)was displayed on the left side of the screen. I assumed it was
something I did (which it may have been). I also am running Avast,
but I removed it and had the same problem, then re-installed it,
updated it, and still had the same problem.

Please let me know if you find a solution, as this is very
frustrating!

Reads like a different problem to me, Jim just click on the Folder List
button in the Top Toolbar.

You might try clicking on View, then Layout. If there is no
check mark in the box before Folder List, click on this box
and then Apply. Click on OK.

Njimack's desciption of the problem exactly describes my problem.
Clicking on the folder list button does not correct the situation.
What I need (and used to have) is the complete Folder List (with sub-
folders) listed on the left side of the screen in a narrow column,
with the messages in the highlighted folder listed on the right side
of the screen. But thanks for the input! Help!
