Hi All,

I am unable to unhide my "hidden folders". I have tried to find the folder
options icon but it does not exist anywhere, not in control panel, not in a
tool bar -nowhere.
I have a bug in my system files and I cant get to them. I am about ready to
Format and start again. I see in the XP help how I sould be able to get there
but no dice, no folder options under tools or control panel.

Any idea's on how to fix this issue

Show Hidden Files and Folders is Missing from Folder Options

Go to: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden.
Modify the string value "Type" and enter "group" as value data.
After the edit is complete hit F5 to refresh. Reboot.

Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going edit>new.
