Previously I used to see the hidden files by going to folder options from
control panel but now, the option "Folder Options" is missing from control
panel. I went to the tools option from the menu bar of explorer window but
there also "Folder Options" is missing. Please help as I don't want to format
or re-load windows.

Hi

Try a System Restore back to a point before the problem started.

Even I don't know from when this problem is present in the system. I have
seen this yesterday itself. Hence I don't wish to use system restore even.

For Windows XP Professional :
`````````````````````````
1) Click [Start] Menu button - Click [Run]
2) Type: gpedit.msc then click [OK] or hit [Enter]
3) In the [Group Policy] window, expand [Administrative Templates]
under [User Configuration]
4) Expand [Windows Components] then click on [Windows Explorer]
5) Right side, double click on :
[Removes the Folder Options menu item from the Tools menu]
6) Select the [Not Configured] or [Disabled] radio button.
7) Click [OK] button to apply the changes and close the dialog box.
8) Close the window.
For Windows XP Home + Profession :
```````````````````````````````
1) Click [Start] button then Click [Run]
2) Type: regedit.exe then click [OK] or press [Enter]
3) Expand:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\]
4) Under the [Policy] key, if there is a key named [Explorer] then click on
it otherwise
skip the next step.
5) Right side, delete the value named [NoFolderOptions] or set its value to 0
6) Expand:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies]
7) Under the [Policy] key, click on [Explorer] key(if it exists) and then
repeat step 5.

Good Luck, Ayush.
