Wondering why Windows xp home ist starting so slow I
found within the C:\windows directory some huge hidden
files (more than 700 MB)with file names like 0 or 1 or 4
or s or y. Are these files necessery for Windows to work
properly? In case they are not, how can I delete them,
since trying to do so I got the message: "These files can
not be deleted since it is currently used by some Windows
application. Close those applications and start again?" ?
But I could not find out, what those hidden files are
used for! I should like, however, to get rid of them, as
I am afraid they are because of their big volume plugging
the directory and are slowing down the start of Windows.

Hi Volker

Are you sure that you havent got either a Virus or some Spyware?

Do a search on Google for Ad Aware and run that for the spyware it is a free
download.

You can do an online virus check through this web site
www.housecall.antivirus.com

Good luck

Eddie
