Hibernation/video driver problem

First, the setup:

1. 2 drive system. drive c: is win2k where I run Target Designer from.
drive d: is my 'target' WinXPe drive.

2. TAP told me that it didn't have video drivers. We use 3dlabs Oxygen GVXI
Pro. At first I just ignored this, created an XPe image, moved it to d:,
booted up.

3. aside from being in low res (i think 640x480), winxpe came up. however,
there wasn't any hiberfil.sys on my drive (despite setting the bit, having
all the right components, etc). I searched this website and few others and
it *seems* like you have to have video drivers installed for hibernate to
work. Is this true?

4. Going on that assumption, I downloaded some drivers from 3dlabs website
(note: they aren't MS blessed or whatever the terminology is). I created
some component from the .inf file, added them to the database, copied all
the good stuff to the repositories, and then added the components to my
target designer, created an image, moved it to d: and rebooted.

5. after getting through the login screen, I got an hourglass cursor,
followed by a bluescreen complaining about an infinite loop in driver glintdd
(one of the ones associated with the 3dlabs video). subsequent boots didn't
even get the bluescreen, just an hourglass cursor that never goes away (hung).

6. however, if i look in the root of d: (while booted on c: from win2k)
there is now a hiberfil.sys, so at least i'm headed in the right direction.

My question thus, is what can I do if winXpe doesn't like my video drivers,
but the video drivers are required for hibernation?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I found out the 3Dlabs drivers didn't support WinXp and instead installed a
different video card with good XP drivers that now allow me to HORM.
