You're welcome.

NOTE: When you do a Disk Cleanup, if you delete the hibernation files, you will
also again disable hibernation. To re-enable hibernation, you will have to do
the cmd prompt enabling again.

i also do disk cleanup and deleted the hibernation files. there was a
warning that i wont be able to use hibernation again. im not aware that it
will completely disable hibernation.i want to restore it but i dont know how.
my computer is in windows vista home basic. and another question, are the
hibernation files take a lot of memory?or it is just overwritten everytime i
use hibernation?

thanks!

you re-enable hibernation from an elevated command prompt. See this link on
my website which tells you how to disable hibernation and, lower down, how
to re-enable it: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/disable_hibernation.htm

The hibernation file takes up the same amount of space as your physical
memory, i.e., if you have 2GB of RAM then the hibernation file will be 2GB.

Type cmd in the search box above the Start Orb on the Taskbar, when cmd.exe
appears at the top of the Start Menu window, right click on it and select "Run
as Administrator", in the command prompt window type powercfg -h on and
press enter.

you must issue command from an ELEVATED command prompt.

click on orb
type cmd in search box
right click on the 'cmd.exe' line that appears at top of search results
under 'programs'
left click on 'run as administrator'

Wouldn't you rather get your desktop back before fussing over hibernation?

Have you run a System Restore after booting with the Vista DVD?
