Hibernation and Standby used to work, error msg now

Hibernation and Standby used to work on my WinXP Pro
system. But then I didn't try to put it in either mode
for several months. Now, when I try either hibernation
or standby I get the error msg "The device driver for
the "PC/AT Enhanced PS/2 Keyboard (101/102-Key)" device
is preventing the machine from entering standby
(hibernation)...

I found Knowledgebase article 302414 Unable to Use Power
Management Features and followed the instructions. I
uninstalled the keyboard driver (which is the Microsoft
standard driver) and let XP reinstall it. Didn't help.
Also using a Microsoft mouse with standard driver.

Anyone got any ideas about what else I can try? This is
a real pain in the rear.

Thanks.

also check your modem 'wake the computer' settings so that
the modem is not stopping the system from standby

Thanks for the link. The good news is that with the
removal of Adobe Type Manager (as suggested in the KB
article) the computer will now go into hibernation. The
bad news is it won't come out cleanly. Apparently
there's a problem with my SiS graphics card driver. Have
wasted the better part of the afternoon trying various
things to clean up the driver to no avail. Any other
ideas (besides buying a new graphics card)?
