Hibernation and Com Ports????

Greetings,
I tried hibernating for the first time,
and it gave a message stating that it cannot enter hibernation because COM1
is in use. However, there is nothing connected to COM1. I disabled COM1,
and the system entered hibernation. Is there a better way then to disable
COM1?

Type msconfig in run and disable unwanted startup items.Click on services tab
on msconfig screen put a check mark in front of hide microsoft services and
after it what all services comes in top white screen uncheck them.Uninstall
com1 and com2 and modem if you have installed in the computer and restart thr
computer.
