Hi - Problems with my mouse pointer

I am having extreme problems with my mouse pointer.
It dashes wildly around and I cannot control it. This is the second evening
it has happened to me. I have checked and I have no virus, which I thought
might cause this. Perhaps someone, somewhere, is playing a little joke on
me. If you can help, anybody, I would sincerely appreciate it.
