Hesitation when insert mode on

When i have the insert mode on, the typing becomes very slow and hesitant. this has not happened before. It works fine otherwise.
 
This is probably an extension of your other problems in assorted posts - it
helps to keep them together - if the suggestions I posted elsewhere do not
resolve the issue, then I would be inclined to investigate your anti-virus
measures.
