Here's a Self Extracting Zip file maker program.

This little program really does the job! I had a need for this kind of
program and this one works perfectly. Does extraction to a folder of
your choice (which you program into the executable) and if it doesn't
exist, it creates it. Also, any folder structure in the archive is
preserved in the extracted results! The program SE Maker, and all of
the executable files it will create are free.

The home page is down, but this download site works perfectly:

http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/semkr100.html

Get it while it's still there.

The program is called "SE Maker" and the download is 853 kb. The files
it creates can be usually (if not always) be opened in .zip programs
as well. That way, you can select the files you want to extract from
the archive.

Note: you will need a zip program first to create the zip files. This
program only converts zip files to SE files.

There was a server problem. I think it's fixed now.
Get it while it's still there.

Hopefully it will remain available.

John,
Check this little (103kb d/l) sfx maker out. Adds only 10kb to the zip.

I just tried it again and the page loaded, but was blank. Might be a
configuration problem with my proxies and Moz. At any rate, the
download link below works real well and the program's help file is a
good one.
Hopefully it will remain available.

Amen. It's been a long time since I used such a well written program
with such a user friendly interface. Only objection is that when you
open an SE, there is no way of telling if there's any progress other
than the flashing hard drive activity light. Not a big deal though,
since it does have a small window that opens when the extraction is
complete.

Preservation of the folder structure was real important to me. SE
Maker does this perfectly.

That should read 25kb. Sorry :-(

Looks like a good one, but I've already done the deed and made the
files for my huge family photo archive project (two years in the
making.) They work like a charm.
Thanks anyway though.
