Here is my new problem. Please help.

I installed a new hard drive on my machine. Then i
partitionedand formatted it. Then I installed Windows XP
Pro Ed. When I re-boot up after loading the Windows setup
files, I get this message "windows could not start
because a file is either corrupt or missing. please
install a new copy of this file : hal.dll

Is it possible to only replace this one file? How? I
tried re-installing from scratch but the file remains
corrupt.

All help on this one would be much appreciated.
