**** HELPNT Upgrade to Win2K AD/DC problem ???

Hi there,

Situation:
- 1 Winnt PDC upgraded to Win2K AD/DC with WINS also !!
Recently I checked the WINS server database on this upgraded Win2K AD/DC,
the WINS database has something like this:
Record Name Type IP
"domain_name" Domain controller xx.xx.xx.xx (DC1)
"domain_name" Domain Master Browser xx.xx.xx.xx (DC1)

Question:
- What 'domain controller' type does it have to do with WINS ? since
my users logging on domain using DNS (as MSFT said member workstation
will rely on DC's dns to logon domain)
- if I replicate this WINS' database to another DC and seize FSMO to
the new DC, will the IP in WINS' change the to the 2nd DC's IP ?
- if it is not changed, will my domain users have the problem to logging
online ?
(since domain workstation use DNS to logon the domain, I think it might not
be
the problem , but the resources in WINS database just make me afraid of
doing
the seizing operation !!!)

PLEASE HELP,
I was thinking to call Microsoft Support Service for working side by side
with me
for seizing operation (eventhough I tested so many times in my lab, but I
never got any
domain controller type register in WINS, ....)

THanks every one for reading,
J.H

Is it possible that record were previously created under Winnt 4 PDC's WINS
?
Because this machine was NT 4 PDC with WINS on it, we upgraded it from that
point

Thanks,
J.H
