I had Norton 2003, caught the same virus twice with it,
and my pc ran slow too. I used Norton for 6 and half
years. Norton does take up alot of resources and really
slows down on the internet if live update is updating it.
Try defragmenting the disk or disk cleanup to see if it
helps. I switched to McAfee 8.0 after I put a new hard
drive in mystem and did a clean install and use McAfee and
I can tell a big difference. McAfee is not a resource hog
like Norton and their live update has not slowed me down
on the internet and I have dial up.
