HELP!

I am using Access 2000 and I used the security wizzard to secure my database.
I didn't fully understand how to it but I made myself the only user and I
gave myself full admin permissions. However I am not technically the creator
of the database the file was already made by another employee and I kept
going with the small amount of work they had done. I always just needed to
enter a password as prompted when i opened the database. I am almost finished
creating the database so I needed to take the password OFF of the database in
order to allow everyone in my department to use it. (It will be easier to use
our network security to make the file read only for most users.) But while I
was trying to remove the password (which I now believe to be impossible) I
did something and my database now gives me the error:
"You do not have the necessary permissions to use the
'M:\NRU_OPER_ADM\Documents_Gust\NRU Trip & Alarm\ T&A.mdb' object. Have your
system administrator or the person who created this object establish the
appropriate permissions for you. "

I don't know what to do!!! I need to finish this database and present it to
my production manager by the end of next week!! HELP!

Without knowing what you actually did it's not easy to help. What you
*should* have done was create a new file that *you* would then own, import
the objects into it and then apply security to that file. Do you have no
backup regime? Or can you ask the file owner to open it under their login?

Keith.

The last time I did a back up was about 5 days ago so I would be losing a
fair bit of work but I do have that one if I need it. My company backs up our
network every night so right now they are working on getting me the most
recent copy that is working. I will do the import thing when I get it back
and that will definitely teach me to do daily back ups! I was just hoping
there might be some way around this but it appears there is not.
Thanks for your input,
