Being driven nuts by friends system problem.

She's lost internet connectivity but her MSN appears to be working fine???
Cannot access internet via internet explorer - no response. Cannot access
control panel, again, no response. In fact little appears to be working!!

Have noticed "Limewire" on system?

Don't want to "restore" if I can help it.

Anyone know whats going on?

Regards

Paul

Does she have a reputable antivirus app, and is it updated?

Does she have a firewall installed, and have you checked the settings?

1= Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you can Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.

Click on Advanced Tab and scroll down under the browsing option and uncheck
this box:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) and click Apply
then Ok to close your IE Properties.

Scan your computer with on-line scanner from here:

What happened before it stopped working? Does she have a proxy set in IE?
