HELP???

I have lost half of my paper. I was saving the entire time and also before I
xed out of the document. When I went to continue the paper, it is only 3
pages long and everything I did today is missing! I have searched high in low
and the same 3 pages keep coming up. Is there anyway I can restore this
document?

First off, what program were you using to create your document? Let's start
there.
