HELP!

I was working on my paper & it closed. it asked me something about reverting,
I don't know what it is & I pressed YEs. and all my updating that I have done
to my paper is gone, I got old version of my paper. Can I get it back somehow?

Sorry. The fact remains that a card laid is a card played. You choose to
revert to the last saved version of your document and as a result you lost
recent changes.

If you have "Automatically create backup copy" enabled (Tools | Options |
Save), there's a possibility that the backup file (which will be called
"Backup of <filename>.wbk") will actually be a later version than the one
you reverted to, though I doubt it.

I don't think you deserve scorn for your decision, though. Word's question
about reverting is, I think, very confusing, and making the wrong choice is
not the same as entirely failing to save or answering No when asked if you
want to save. Under ordinary circumstances, you shouldn't even get such a
question. Recent versions of Word are much clearer in describing
AutoRecovery backups and the like, so it's easier to tell which file is
really the most recent.

You don't say what version of Word you have, but this message may indicate a
problem with the Registry. See "WD97: Error Message: Do You Want to Revert

The short reply was not intended as scorn. However, it could have been
taken as curt and I realized that immediately after replying. I think the
message to the OP should be "save often" to avoid such grief.
